At Pro-Type Industries, Incorporated, our extensive capabilities allow us to take on highly complex work that requires extensive planning, and meticulous execution. The project shown here is an example of a large-scale multi-faceted assembly that highlights our extensive resources and process efficiencies. This finished assembly features overall dimensions of 180” x 120” x 86” and includes a precision machined and welded structure (tolerances to ±.005”), over 50 custom fabricated components, as well as fasteners and hardware that number in the hundreds.

It goes without saying that the amount of planning to engineer, fabricate, and assemble a project of this magnitude is extensive. In addition to advanced engineering, CNC machining, welding, grinding, and sanding, we also had to apply a robust painted finish.

A major consideration in work of this type is tolerance build up and alignment, the only way to ensure that these factors are mitigated is through high precision throughout each component and process, which is no small feat with this large an assembly. The level of quality control required on this assembly was extensive, and a critical production factor; fortunately our quality department plays an integral role in all production activities.

Through our many years of experience we have learned that utilizing an integrated approach is the only way to ensure that projects of all size and complexity can be completed successfully. For aerospace applications such as this, meeting all of the customer’s specifications and schedule is not negotiable. Our ability to deliver on our promise of quality has allowed us to develop positive long-term relationships; in this case the end result was a very satisfied client, resulting in repeat orders.
